Accelerated Degree Programs

Accelerate Your Graduate Degree

Stout’s Accelerated Program (undergraduate + graduate) helps you get a jump start on your master’s degree before you finish your undergraduate degree. Save time and money by applying up to nine credits of graduate-level coursework to both the completion of your bachelor’s degree and the start of a UW-Stout master’s degree.

Save Time

Cut down on the number of credits remaining on your master’s degree by using up to nine credits of graduate-level coursework to finish your undergraduate degree requirements.

Save Money

Save money in two ways:

1) Pay once for up to nine credits that are shared between your undergraduate and graduate degree and 2) Pay undergraduate tuition for those shared graduate credits.

Available Degree Programs

Eligibility

You must have a minimum undergraduate GPA of 2.75 (or meet the graduate program’s GPA requirement) and be within 45 credits of completing your bachelor’s degree to apply for an accelerated program.

Tuition

In an Accelerated Program you pay undergraduate tuition for up to nine graduate credits that you take while earning your bachelor’s degree. Once you earn your bachelor’s degree, you pay graduate tuition for your remaining graduate credits.

How to Apply

The process is easy! Just follow these steps.

  1. Contact your undergraduate Program Director (PD) as early as possible to explore the Accelerated Program option, discuss your eligibility, and connect with the appropriate graduate PD.

  2. Meet with the graduate PD of your intended master’s program to outline recommended course work.

  3. Once your eligibility is confirmed, complete the Accelerated Program Enrollment Statement form with your undergraduate PD, including work experience, admissions requirements, GPA, etc.

  4. Submit your graduate school application and your “Accelerated Program Enrollment Statement” to the Graduate School.
