Introduction

Mechanical Engineering Students will gain experience through hands on training at the University of Wisconsin - Stout. Mechanical Engineering is a diverse discipline that is involved with the design and manufacture of nearly everything from micro-scale objects to machine tools and airplanes. The mechanical engineering program at UW-Stout will prepare graduates for successful careers in the mechanical engineering related professions and other career paths. Students will be prepared for the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam administered by the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) upon graduation.

Bachelor of Science Degree

 

Total for graduation 129-130 credits
Stout Core  40 credits
Major Requirements  89-90 credits

 

Program Requirements


Stout Core (40 credits)


Analytical Reasoning and Natural Sciences (13 credits)


Arts and Humanities (6 credits)


Social and Behavioral Sciences (6 credits)


Social Responsibility and Ethical Reasoning (3 credits)


Courses must be selected from the list of approved social responsibility and ethical reasoning courses.

Electives to reach 40 Stout Core credits


Students must also take courses with the following designations:
