Cybersecurity, B.S.: 4-year sequence

Introduction

The B.S. in Cybersecurity prepares students to protect information systems, networks, applications, and cloud environments from evolving cyber threats. Students gain hands-on experience in network defense, ethical hacking, incident response, digital forensics, cloud and infrastructure security, AI applications in cybersecurity, compliance, and risk management using enterprise-grade tools and lab environments.

The program is designed for students interested in careers such as security analyst, SOC analyst, incident responder, penetration tester, cloud security engineer, security engineer, and cybersecurity consultant. Graduates develop technical, analytical, and communication skills through labs, projects, cooperative education, and a culminating cybersecurity capstone experience.

UW-Stout is designated as an NSA Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense (CAE-CD) and the B.S. Cybersecurity program aligns with national workforce frameworks, preparing students for industry certifications and employment in government and private sector organizations.
