UW-Stout’s Biomedical Design and Innovation minor emphasizes a shortened, focused approach to the biomedical product design field. This focused curriculum will apply the principles of biomedical product design toward a technical skillset. Students will explore real-world aspects of the biomedical design in the classroom This minor prepares students outside of the biomedical industry an opportunity to enhance their skillset. Students will experience hands-on skill development with the opportunity to work on biomedical products and/or systems.
Our students gain experience working on real-world projects with a focus on design and technology. To meet the needs of the biomedical product design industry, the minor offers students the opportunity to focus on creative and technical design, problem-solving collaboration, anatomy and physiology, sustainable design, digital three-dimensional design and understanding of the human condition.
Pursuing a minor in Biomedical Design and Innovation prepares students by developing critical thinking and communication skills and providing hands-on experience in key areas of the product design process.
