Information and Communication Technologies, B.S.:
Introduction
UW-Stout’s Bachelor of Science degree in Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) provides a flexible program of study for high school graduates, technical and two-year college graduates and working professionals. Our accessible program and co-op internship opportunities provide flexibility to prepare for a path tailored to your personal and professional goals.
Since innovation of computing and the Internet have continued to transform the global economy and society, the need for graduates with information and communication technologies skills continues to increase. The B.S. in Information and Communication Technologies offers a variety of contemporary technical verticals through use of program approved academic minors and professional certificates including:
Computer Networking Systems and Design
Computer Science
Cyber Security and Cyber Defense - Computer Networking Professional Development Certificate
Digital Marketing
Enterprise Technology
Geographic Information Systems
Graphic Media and Print Management
Information and Security Management
Photography and Video
Project Management
Web Technology
The B.S. ICT program also offers:

Racial and Ethnic Studies (6 credits*)
Three credits must be selected from RES-A.
Global Perspective (6 credits*)
Complete 6 credits of global perspective (GLP) approved courses, including GLP-approved instructor-led study abroad courses, or complete a program of university-approved work or university-approved study abroad not led by UW-Stout instructors.
General Education (40 credits)
Communication Skills (9 credits)
Analytic Reasoning and Natural Science (10 credits)
Courses must be from the areas of analytic reasoning and natural sciences. At least one mathematics or statistics course and a natural science course with a lab are required.
Arts and Humanities (6 credits)
Courses must be from two or more areas including art history/music & theater appreciation, creative/performing arts, foreign language and culture, history, literature, and philosophy.
Social and Behavioral Sciences (6 credits)
Courses must be from two or more areas including anthropology, economics, geography, political science, psychology and sociology.
Cross-disciplinary Issues (3 credits)
Social Responsibility and Ethical Reasoning (3 credits)
Courses must be selected from the list of approved social responsibility and ethical reasoning courses.
Selectives (3 credits)
Courses/credits may be selected from any category to meet the 40-credit requirement.
Major Studies (80 credits)
Professional Studies and Technical Specialty and/or Transfer must total a minimum of 80 credits.
Professional Studies (32 credits)
Take the following Professional Studies Courses.
Technical Specialty and/or Transfer (48 credits)
Select courses and/or transfer credits with the following prefixes: CS, CNIT, DMT, GCOM, ICT, PHOTO, or VID.
And / Or
Select a Program Approved Minor:
