Introduction
The Studio Art Minor provides a foundation in visual literacy and creative problem solving within the context of the fine art studio. Students analyze art in historical and cultural context and apply principles of art and design in the production of artworks. This minor equips students to be creative, reflective, visually astute, and culturally aware.
A studio art minor requires a minimum of 24 credits. All course work must be A-F grade basis and completed with a “C” or better. A maximum of four courses from the major may “double count.” Certain courses may be repeated for credit with authorization from advisor. A minimum of 12 credits within the minor must be completed at UW-Stout. Students may choose 1) a general Studio Art Minor, or 2) a concentrated Studio Art Minor.
